The Washington Post newspaper website has a recording on their website of an educator (Washintgon, D.C. Schools Chancellor Rhee) making light of her early “teaching misadventures”–laughing, even–about how she had all the students in her class put masking tap on their mouths so they wouldn’t talk in the hallways.
The kids mouths were bleeding and the whole class was crying, Rhee laughed, when they took the tape off.
The kids were only in third grade.
The other thing that amazes (and completely disgusts and infuriates me) is that the audience can actually be heard laughing as they hear this story.
